One of most unique wrestlers in the wrestling industry, CM Punk created a cult following fan base. He was different from the other wrestlers and didn’t have the stereotypical look of a WWE champion. Punk’s gimmick was basically imitating his real life mentality; he’s an outspoken, sharp-tongued, anti-establishment, straight edge iconoclast, and fans were drawn to it. Before Punk’s departure from WWE, he was one of the top main event draws, but his career would be cut short because of his dismay with the WWE’s direction and his character. Punk revealed he was going into MMA, signing a multi fight contract with the UFC. His much anticipated debut is sure to be a PPV draw. Punk has also ventured into graphic novels, and has co-written numerous works for Marvel Comics.
Punk earned all his success with several stops in many different promotions throughout the years before making it to the WWE. During his time in these different promotions, Punk gained a reputation of being a womanizer, more so during the beginning of his career. Nevertheless, he did have many flings during his WWE tenure. Punk had the tendency to be linked to various female wrestlers, but several were backstage rumors with no hard facts behind them, because Punk is a very private person and doesn’t pander about his personal life. However, when more than one individual is speaking about the situation, one can believe there is some truth behind the gossip. Although Punk has since dropped his “Casanova” ways, has settled down and is happily married to former WWE superstar AJ Lee, here is a list of the 11 hottest women CM Punk has dated (or was rumored to have dated).
11. Maria Kanellis
Maria had a brief stint in the WWE. Her most notable work was as a backstage interviewer and part-time wrestler. After leaving the WWE in 2010, Maria went on to work for Ring of Honor for four years where she would meet her future husband, wrestler Michael Bennet. Maria would then move on to different promotions in the following years, and she is now currently working for TNA. Maria has been linked to Punk, as the two met during their tenures in Ohio Valley Wrestling. While in the WWE developmental system, the two became very close and began dating in 2005. Their relationship lasted nearly two years before ending in 2007.
10. Beth Phoenix
Phoenix had an accomplished career with the WWE, winning the Women’s Championship on four separate occasions. Phoenix was beautiful but tough at the same time, and this special blend made her a mainstay for years with the company. Punk has never been one to be vocal about his past relationships, preferring to keep his life private, however, when it comes to Phoenix, he has made his feeling towards her known. During a radio interview, he called her a “douche bag” and a “fake”. Phoenix never responded to those comments. Phoenix is now happily married and has a child with former wrestler Adam Copeland, who is better known as Edge.
9. Traci Brooks
Brooks started as a model, being named Miss June in the Toronto Sun’s ‘Sunshine Girl Calendar’. With her new found fame, Brooks said her dream was to be “the next WWE superstar.” This led her to being introduced to Canadian wrestler Ron Hutchinson, who began training her. After working the independent circuits for a few years, Brooks signed with TNA and began her professional wrestling career debuting with a Catholic girl persona in 2003. Brooks garnered mainstream success when she posed in a photoshoot for Playboy in 2009, becoming the first woman from TNA to pose for the magazine. CM Punk dated Brooks for a brief period while they were both working for TNA, but after Punk left the company the relationship ended. Brooks is now married to wrestler Frankie Kazarian.
8. Becky Bayless
Bayless has worked for several promotions over the years, the companies include Ring of Honor, Full Impact Pro, and TNA. Before becoming a singles wrestler she worked primarily as a valet during her wrestling tenures. She is currently wrestling in various independent promotions most notably under Shimmer Women Athletes. Bayless has an unfortunate Jersey Shore persona that she can’t break free from, this has limited her to fining success in larger wrestling promotions. CM Punk never publicly admitted to dating Bayless, however while they were both in Ring of Honor rumors suggested that they were an item at one point in time.
7. Daffney
Most will recognize Daffney from her time in the WCW where she had some success and a small, but loyal following. She would then go on to work for several independent promotions and at one time had a brief stint in Ohio Valley Wrestling before being released. Daffney would then emerge in TNA in 2008, and left the company in 2013 citing injuries as a factor. She is currently working for the Shine Wrestling promotion. Daffney is considered a serial dater. Along with her brief relationship with CM Punk, she has been romantically linked to Shannon Moore and Stevie Richards. She was also briefly married to Rich Ward, a Fozzy bandmate of Chris Jericho.
6. Fellice Herrig
The only non-wrestler on this list is Fellice Herrig, though she isn’t a wrestler she is a mixed martial artist which in turn is close enough to the wrestling world. She is currently signed with the UFC, however Herrig is having limited success with the promotion and MMA, her record is a mere 10-6. On the MMA Roasted podcast, comedian Adam Hunter asked Herrig if she had any relations with Punk, and Herrig did not deny it. She also didn’t have any animosity towards Punk, instead she spoke very highly of him.
5. Kelly Kelly
Kelly had some success in her short-lived WWE career. She is a one-time Divas Champion having a four month reign with the title. In 2012, she was released from her contract due to needing time off to heal a neck injury and wanting to pursue a career as a model. Kelly then went on to do limited work on the independent circuit before officially retiring from wrestling. Kelly is currently one of the cast members on the E! reality television series WAGS, the show features a look into the personal lives of the wives and girlfriends of men in sports. Kelly has been linked to Punk while they were working together as part of a storyline. Kelly also had a two and a half year relationship with wrestler Andrew Martin (Test), but the relationship ended prior to his death in 2009. Kelly recently got married to former NHL player Sheldon Souray.
4. Alison Danger
Danger has spent most of her wrestling career in Ring of Honor and Shimmer. She began her career in 2003 wrestling on the independent circuit and signed with Ring of Honor a year later. Danger is heavily involved with the Chicago based female independent wrestling promotion Shimmer Women Athletes, she co-runs the promotion and was an active wrestler before retiring from in-ring action in 2013. Punk and Danger spent time together on the independent circuit and she is believed to be one of the many women Punk hooked up with during the beginning of his career. Punk also helped train Danger.
3. Lita
Lita has dated several WWE superstars over the years, but her most high profile relationship was with former WWE star Matt Hardy. However, their relationship would be strained, and it was made public that Lita was romantically involved with Edge for several months while still in a relationship with Hardy. Moreover, Lita also dated Punk on two separate occasions. They dated for over a year around 2009, and in April 2013, it was reported Lita and Punk were a couple again, though they ceased dating later in 2013. Lita has always talked highly about Punk and the two have remained friends.
2. Mickie James
James was released from her contract in 2010 with the WWE, citing that they were going in a new direction with the women’s division. James then went on to work for TNA and is now currently working with Global Force Wrestling. Punk and James have been rumored to be an item. The original plan was for James to debut in the WWE with Punk, but the plans were changed because officials didn’t think they worked well together. James has also been romantically linked to none other than John Cena.
1. AJ Lee
A three time Divas Champion and named Woman of the Year by the illustrious Pro Wrestling Illustrated for three straight years, Lee certainly left her mark with the company. She also had the record for longest reign by a women in WWE history, holding the title for 295 days (this until Nikki Bella recently broke the record). AJ was adored by fans because she was talented in the ring and a geek outside of it being into comics and video games. It’s a shame AJ decided to retire at the young age of 28. She did not specify why she left the WWE, but one can speculate it had to do with the hostile relationship between Punk and the WWE. Punk and AJ got married on June 13, 2014.
