If you’re a longtime Survivor fan, you already know that the show has delivered unforgettable personalities, dramatic blindsides, impressive challenges, and plenty of memorable castaways. After dozens of seasons, there is certainly no shortage of contestants who left a lasting impression.
With so many seasons to choose from, we decided to revisit 33 of the most captivating women to compete on Survivor. This collection includes former cheerleaders, models, pageant contestants, actresses, athletes, and women who became fan favorites both on and off the island.
There are also plenty of interesting stories along the way. Some contestants were originally considered for The Amazing Race, others returned for multiple seasons, and a few went on to build successful careers in television, modeling, entertainment, and business.
Rather than focusing only on their appearances during the competition, this ranking also looks at their careers, memorable moments, relationships, and what they went on to do after leaving the island.
So, whether you have followed Survivor since the beginning or simply enjoy revisiting some of the show's most memorable castaways, here are 33 women who certainly stood out.
33. Kelly Shinn – Survivor: Nicaragua
Kelly Shinn was just 20 years old and studying nursing when she joined the cast of Survivor: Nicaragua. Her experience on the island was not exactly what she had hoped for, and she ultimately left the competition after 28 days.
During her time in the game, Kelly lost around 12 pounds. One interesting detail about her casting is that she was reportedly discovered while shopping at a mall. Although viewers did not see an individual confessional from her until the seventh episode, she remained a memorable member of the cast.
32. Natalie Tenerelli – Survivor: Redemption Island
Natalie Tenerelli became one of the youngest contestants in Survivor history when she competed on Redemption Island at just 19 years old.
Her time on the season was closely associated with Boston Rob, as she became part of his alliance and ultimately made it all the way to the final three. Away from the game, Natalie pursued a career in dance and was associated with the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers.
31. Kat Edorsson – Survivor: One World, Blood vs. Water
Kat Edorsson appeared on Survivor: One World and later returned for Blood vs. Water. Her energetic personality and unmistakable blonde look made her one of the more recognizable castaways from her era.
Her original partner for Blood vs. Water was not Hayden Moss. Kat reportedly considered several members of her family first, including her cousin, sister, and father, before ultimately teaming up with her then-boyfriend Hayden.
30. Jerri Manthey – Survivor: The Australian Outback, All-Stars, Heroes vs. Villains
Few early Survivor contestants became as recognizable as Jerri Manthey. She competed in three seasons: The Australian Outback, All-Stars, and Heroes vs. Villains.
Jerri's outspoken personality made her a polarizing figure during the show's early years, but her memorable presence helped establish her as one of the franchise's most recognizable personalities.
In 2001, Jerri appeared in Playboy, adding another notable chapter to her entertainment career. She was also inducted into the Hooters Girls Hall of Fame in 2010.
29. Stephenie LaGrossa – Survivor: Palau, Guatemala, Heroes vs. Villains
Stephenie LaGrossa became one of the most familiar faces of her generation after playing three times on Survivor. She competed on Palau, Guatemala, and Heroes vs. Villains.
Her remarkable ability to survive after her original tribe was decimated in Palau helped turn her into one of the season's most memorable players. She later married baseball player Kyle Kendrick after her first marriage ended in divorce.
28. Ashley Trainer – Survivor: Samoa
Ashley Trainer entered Survivor: Samoa with a straightforward strategy: she planned to use her outgoing personality and flirtatious nature to build relationships and gain an advantage.
Her stay on the island was relatively brief, but Ashley still managed to become one of the more memorable members of the season's cast.
27. Jefra Bland – Survivor: Cagayan
Jefra Bland competed on Survivor: Cagayan, the season built around the Brains, Brawn, and Beauty divisions. A former pageant contestant, Jefra naturally found herself on the Beauty tribe.
She lost around nine pounds during her time in the competition and later married. Jefra and her husband eventually welcomed their son, Asher Reese Hines.
26. Jessica Kiper – Survivor: Gabon, Heroes vs. Villains
Jessica Kiper, better known to many fans as Sugar, competed on Survivor: Gabon before returning for Heroes vs. Villains.
Her second experience with the franchise was particularly difficult. Following her early departure from Heroes vs. Villains, she publicly discussed serious personal struggles and later appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
Her life subsequently entered a more positive chapter, including marriage and becoming a mother.
25. Alicia Rosa – Survivor: One World
Alicia Rosa was one of the more controversial personalities on Survivor: One World. Her time on the island generated plenty of discussion, but her striking appearance and post-show career make her worthy of a place on this list.
After Survivor, Alicia explored music and released a song through iTunes. She also became involved in a highly publicized relationship controversy involving fellow contestant David Murphy.
24. Kelly Sharbaugh – Survivor: Samoa
Kelly Sharbaugh appeared on the 19th season of Survivor while working as a hairstylist. Her distinctive tattoos also helped make her stand out, including the word "Cuidado" on her forearm and "trouble" on her foot.
Life on the island took its toll physically, with Kelly reportedly losing around nine pounds during the competition.
23. Alexis Maxwell – Survivor: Cagayan
Alexis Maxwell was only 21 when she joined Survivor: Cagayan. She described herself as funny, flirty, and intelligent, making her a natural fit for the season's Beauty tribe.
Although her time on the show was relatively short and there is limited information about her later career, Alexis certainly made an impression on viewers.
22. Amanda Kimmel – Survivor: China, Micronesia, Heroes vs. Villains
Amanda Kimmel combined strategic gameplay with a memorable personality, earning invitations to compete on Survivor three times. Her seasons included China, Micronesia, and Heroes vs. Villains.
Her relationship with fellow contestant Ozzy Lusth became one of the better-known showmances of the era. Amanda later married Matt Cooper in 2015.
The accompanying photo was taken during production of Into the Blue 2: The Reef, where Amanda appeared alongside fellow Survivor player Parvati Shallow.
21. Courtney Yates – Survivor: China, Heroes vs. Villains
Courtney Yates was discovered in an unexpected way. While she was working as a waitress, someone connected with CBS happened to be dining at the restaurant, helping lead to her casting on Survivor: China.
Courtney returned for Heroes vs. Villains, where she continued to be one of the franchise's more outspoken personalities. She also previously dated fellow contestant Stephen Fishbach.
20. Candace Smith – Survivor: Tocantins
Candace Smith did not have a particularly long run on Survivor: Tocantins, but her résumé before and after the show certainly makes her interesting.
Before joining the cast, Candace was a former Miss Ohio and was working as an attorney. Following Survivor, she appeared in films including Slammin' Salmon, End of Watch, and Gimme Shelter.
19. Julie McGee – Survivor: Blood vs. Water
Julie McGee competed on the second edition of Survivor: Blood vs. Water alongside professional baseball player John Rocker. Their relationship became a significant part of the season's storyline.
Julie was also associated with the tanning business True Glow Spray Tan. Her relationship with Rocker later ended, although the pair remained one of the more talked-about couples from the season.
18. Sydney Wheeler – Survivor: Tocantins
Sydney Wheeler competed on the 18th season of Survivor. Her background as a model was immediately noticeable, and she reportedly lost approximately 13 pounds during her time in the game.
Since appearing on the show, Sydney married and welcomed a daughter while continuing to pursue work in modeling.
17. Elisabeth Hasselbeck – Survivor: The Australian Outback
Elisabeth Hasselbeck became a memorable contestant on The Australian Outback, particularly because of her close friendship with fellow castaway Rodger Bingham.
She was invited to return for Survivor: All-Stars, but a scheduling conflict prevented her from participating. Amber Brkich ultimately took the spot, setting the stage for one of the franchise's most famous relationships with Boston Rob.
Elisabeth later became a major television personality. She co-hosted The View for more than a decade before moving to Fox & Friends. She also declined an invitation to compete on Survivor: Cambodia.
16. Brenda Lowe – Survivor: Nicaragua, Caramoan
Brenda Lowe competed twice, appearing on Survivor: Nicaragua and later returning for Caramoan. Her confident personality and social game made her one of the more memorable women from her seasons.
Outside of the show, Brenda has shared her love of the outdoors and ocean activities, including paddleboarding. She also appeared in a commercial for Stanton Optical.
15. Kim Spradlin – Survivor: One World
Kim Spradlin is remembered not only for her appearance but also as one of the strongest strategic players of Survivor: One World. She controlled much of the game and ultimately became the season's winner.
Kim entered the competition following a divorce but later found happiness with Bryan Wolfe. The couple married in 2013 and went on to have three children.
Kim also pursued a career in television, including work as a co-host on Great Day San Antonio.
14. Ashley Massaro – Survivor: China
Ashley Massaro brought a completely different résumé to Survivor: China. Before competing, she had already established herself as a professional wrestler with WWE.
Her athletic background made her an intriguing addition to the cast, even though her stay on the island was short. She remains one of the most recognizable celebrities to have competed on the show.
13. Sierra Thomas – Survivor: Worlds Apart
Sierra Thomas joined the Blue Collar tribe on Survivor: Worlds Apart. Her work as a barrel racer demonstrated that she was far more than just a photogenic castaway.
She also had modeling experience and was pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice around the time she competed. Her combination of athleticism, ambition, and modeling experience made her stand out from the rest of the cast.
12. Andrea Boehlke – Survivor: Redemption Island, Caramoan
Andrea Boehlke competed on both Survivor: Redemption Island and Caramoan. She developed a reputation as a strategic player and returned to the franchise with a larger role the second time around.
After her reality-TV appearances, Andrea expanded her career into entertainment and hosting, including work on AskMen's "The Daily Brief."
11. Jaclyn Schultz – Survivor: Blood vs. Water
Jaclyn Schultz entered Survivor: Blood vs. Water with an impressive pageant background, having been crowned Miss Michigan in 2013. She competed alongside her then-boyfriend Jon Misch.
The couple announced their engagement during the reunion show and married in October 2014. Interestingly, Jaclyn and Jon had originally been considered for The Amazing Race before being selected for Survivor.
Jaclyn also became known for discussing a reproductive health condition during the season, a personal subject that brought another dimension to her time on the show.
10. Julie Berry – Survivor: Vanuatu
Julie Berry became memorable for more than her time on Survivor: Vanuatu. After the season ended, she entered into a relationship with host Jeff Probst.
The couple dated for approximately three years before their relationship ended in 2008. Their romance remains one of the most unusual real-life relationships to emerge from the Survivor franchise.
9. Angie Layton – Survivor: Philippines
Angie Layton brought a serious pageant résumé to Survivor: Philippines. She had previously won Miss Utah Teen USA and placed as third runner-up at Miss Teen USA.
Her time on Survivor was relatively short, but she continued building her pageant career afterward and was crowned Miss Utah USA in 2014.
8. Morgan McLeod – Survivor: Cagayan
Morgan McLeod was part of the Beauty tribe on Survivor: Cagayan. Before entering the game, she had experience as an NFL cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers.
She lost approximately 11 pounds during her time on the island. Morgan later became engaged and was also recognized alongside Parvati Shallow in a Survivor Oz Awards fan poll celebrating the show's most attractive female contestants.
7. Heidi Strobel – Survivor: The Amazon
Heidi Strobel became one of the most recognizable women from Survivor: The Amazon. She and Jenna Morasca famously took part in a memorable challenge involving food, and their time on the show later led to opportunities outside the franchise.
Heidi and Jenna both appeared in Playboy after their Survivor seasons. The magazine appearance became one of the most talked-about post-show opportunities associated with the pair.
6. Christina Cha – Survivor: One World
Christina Cha was 29 years old when she competed on the 24th season of Survivor. The demanding conditions of the island had a noticeable effect, with Christina reportedly losing around 23 pounds during the game.
After returning home, Christina received a job offer as a sales director and said that her experience on Survivor played a role in opening that professional opportunity.
5. Jessica Figueroa and Rachel Ako – Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X
Technically, this entry features two contestants, but both Jessica "Figgy" Figueroa and Rachel Ako deserve recognition for their memorable presence on Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X.
Jessica quickly attracted attention during the season and became one of the cast's most talked-about young contestants. Rachel, meanwhile, brought her own distinctive personality to the competition.
The pair represent the next generation of memorable Survivor castaways and helped give the season plenty of personality from the beginning.
4. Amber Brkich – Survivor: The Australian Outback, All-Stars
Amber Brkich became half of one of the most famous couples in Survivor history. She met Boston Rob Mariano while competing on Survivor: All-Stars, and their friendship eventually developed into a romance.
After the season, Rob proposed to Amber. The couple then competed together on The Amazing Race, where they finished second, before marrying in 2005.
They later returned to The Amazing Race and have four daughters together. Their relationship remains one of the most enduring romances to emerge from the reality-TV world.
3. Chelsea Meissner – Survivor: One World
Chelsea Meissner made her mark on Survivor: One World with her strong social connections and memorable presence. She also formed a powerful alliance with eventual winner Kim Spradlin.
Her beach lifestyle and laid-back personality made her a natural fit for a season filmed in a tropical setting, and she quickly became one of the more recognizable women from the cast.
2. Parvati Shallow – Survivor: Cook Islands, Micronesia, Heroes vs. Villains
Parvati Shallow is one of the most recognizable women in Survivor history. She competed three times, appearing on Cook Islands, Micronesia, and Heroes vs. Villains.
Her strategic use of social relationships became one of the defining elements of her gameplay. She eventually won Micronesia and later reached the end again on Heroes vs. Villains.
Interestingly, Parvati and a friend originally auditioned for The Amazing Race. Although they did not make the final cast, producers saw potential in Parvati and eventually brought her onto Survivor: Cook Islands.
1. Jenna Morasca – Survivor: The Amazon, All-Stars
At the top of our ranking is Jenna Morasca, who won Survivor: The Amazon before returning for All-Stars.
Jenna's decision to leave All-Stars was particularly emotional. She chose to step away from the competition because she wanted to return home to be with her mother, whose health was deteriorating.
Following Survivor, Jenna entered into a long-term relationship with fellow winner Ethan Zohn, and the pair later competed together on The Amazing Race.
Jenna and fellow contestant Heidi Strobel also became famous for their post-show appearance in Playboy. Their appearance became one of the most talked-about commercial opportunities connected to the early seasons of Survivor.
Whether you agree with the exact order or would rank these castaways differently, there is no question that Survivor has produced an incredible collection of memorable women over the years. From strategic masterminds and challenge competitors to models, athletes, pageant contestants, and television personalities, these castaways helped make the franchise what it is today.
