12 Things You Didn't Know About Blac Chyna

If you’ve been following entertainment news lately, you’ve probably heard a lot about Blac Chyna. She’s an ex-stripper who met rapper Tyga while she was still at her previous “profession.” The two fell in love and have a son together. They were even engaged for a time, but that’s all over now, because Tyga moved on to date Kylie, the youngest Kardashian sister. Blac Chyna is also friends with Kim Kardashian, who is the sister of her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. We know, it’s confusing.

To make things even more complicated, Blac Chyna is also (apparently) dating Rob Kardashian, who is Kylie and Kim’s brother. This means that she probably still sees her ex Tyga more often than she wants to. Or, maybe she does want to. Perhaps she’s trying to get back at him by beating him at his own Kardashian dating game. Or, maybe Blac Chyna is trying to make sure that she never has to go back to stripping again. And, what better way to do that than to get connected to a family who became famous because of one of the sex tapes of the family members? Clearly Blac Chyna is a “layered” woman. Here are 12 things you may not know about her.

12. Blac Chyna’s Real Name Is Angela White

 

Blac Chyna was born Angela Renee White. But, that doesn’t quite have the ring to it that strip clubs are looking for, which is probably why she changed it to Blac Chyna. She likely got the memo that you have to have a cool-sounding name in order to even be noticed in hip-hop. She was so noticeable, in fact, that she played Nicki Minaj’s body double for the video for “Monster” (we see the resemblance). She was also the “main girl” in Tyga’s “Rack City” video. That’s around the time things started to pick up for the former exotic dancer.

11. Blac Chyna Is Short

You probably can’t tell from the pictures that are all over the Internet, but Blac Chyna is only 5 feet 2 inches. It’s surprising that she was able to be so successful as a stripper, since she doesn’t exactly have long legs. However, her other “assets” likely made up for the fact that she doesn’t have much going for her in the height department. Perhaps she and Kim Kardashian get along so well because they have similar physiques. Although, we’re not sure if Blac Chyna will reach the same level of fame as her Kardashian friend. Unless, of course, she makes a sex tape too, but that’s just too big of a risk.

10. Blac Chyna Went to Kim and Kanye’s Wedding

Blac Chyna made the coveted guest list for Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kanye West. So, whatever she’s doing to get in good graces with the Kardashian family, it’s working. Chyna actually attended the wedding with her ex-fiance Tyga. Maybe that’s around the time Tyga spotted Kylie and wanted to know more about her. The rest, as they say, is history. We’re still not even really sure how Blac Chyna continued to be so connected to the Kardashians after her boyfriend left her for Kylie. Hollywood is a weird place. Then again, maybe Chyna realized that this is the price she’d have to pay for fame, so she went along with it.

9. Blac Chyna Is a Native of Washington, D.C.

If you’ve been following Blac Chyna’s “career” for a while, you probably know that she hails from D.C. You know, the place where politicians gather to determine the fate of our country. So, it’s only right that a former exotic dancer calls the district home. Sources say that she was born in May of 1988, so she’s not even 27 yet. That’s a pretty young age to have such a full life. Her transition from D.C. to L.A. likely has a lot to do with the fact that she’s had so many life-changing experiences in such a short amount of time.

8. Blac Chyna Counts Drake As A Fan

Back when Blac Chyna was a well-known stripper, she caught the attention of rapper Drake. Apparently, he has lots of “respect” for her craft, because he states in his song “Miss Me”: “Call the King of Diamonds and inform Chyna it might be well worth the flight.” So, apparently, he’s so fascinated with what Blac Chyna can do that he’d be willing to fly her to one of his private parties. We’re guessing that’s a compliment. After she got a shout-out on a Drake song (admit it, that’s a pretty big deal), people wanted to know who she was, and she started to become even more famous.

7. Blac Chyna Is A Successful Model

Aside from her business ventures, expert networking skills, and her ability to grab the attention of men everywhere, Blac Chyna is also a successful model. She’s been on the covers of Straight Stuntin’ and Dimepiece magazines, and is often sought after for videos. Of course, Blac Chyna has also been taking cues from Kim Kardashian and posting alluring shots of herself all over Instagram for the world to see. Maybe this will work to build her overall brand; maybe people will forget about her by this time next year. However, it looks like Blac Chyna has a few things up her sleeve when it comes to staying relevant.

6. Blac Chyna Was Lectured By Rob Kardashian

Recently, Blac Chyna was arrested for public intoxication in Texas. Her current boyfriend, Rob Kardashian, drove from California to Texas to pick Chyna up from jail. That’s a pretty serious move for a guy who has only been dating a girl for a few weeks (as far as we know). Apparently, Rob was disappointed in Blac Chyna’s actions, and gave her a stern talking to in the car after coming to pick her up. Rob is one of the low-key Kardashians, and even when he did appear on the family’s reality shows, he made it clear that he wasn’t obsessed with fame. So, he probably made it clear to her that he didn’t want any more negative attention coming his way.

5. Blac Chyna Had a Few Names Before Settling on “Blac Chyna”

When Chyna was just 18, she started stripping. Back then, her name was Dora Renee. She was also known as Cream. However, that all changed one day when she met a guy at the strip club who went by “Black China.” He explained that he adopted the moniker because he was a Black man with Chinese-shaped eyes. She thought the name was fitting for her as well, so she decided to get a little creative and spell her name with the “k” and with a “y.” The fact that she took the “k” out of her name on purpose apparently isn’t a problem for the Kardashian girls, since they’ve welcomed her into their fold.

4. Blac Chyna Went to College

Sure, her professional path is unconventional, but Blac Chyna did actually attend college. She went to Johnson and Wales University in Miami, and that’s when she started stripping under the name Dora Renee. As most of us know, college can be very expensive, and you may have considered stripping for just a little while to pay back student loans (admit it). However, unlike most strippers, things really started taking off for Blac Chyna, proving that her risky profession may have paid off for her. After all, she is in the news a lot these days and gets to walk the red carpet and have her picture taken millions of times a month.

3. Blac Chyna Is A Certified Makeup Artist

Even though strippers often get more money than people think, Blac Chyna still wanted more for herself, so she decided to become a makeup artist. She went to JLS Makeup and Artist School, and graduated in 2013. So, not only can she apply her own makeup, she can make sure that the Kardashians are looking their best at every red carpet event as well. Besides, it’s always wise to have an additional skill or two tucked away, so you’ll have something to fall back on. After all, Blac Chyna isn’t going to be young forever.

2. Blac Chyna Has An Eyelash Line

Blac Chyna is obviously a savvy businesswoman, because she started a beauty boutique called 88fin when she graduated from makeup school, and introduced a line of eyelashes called Lashed by Blac Chyna the same year. Obviously, she never intended for all of her money to come from stripping, which is definitely a good thing. Apparently, other girls wanted to get Blac Chyna’s full lash look, since the lash line is doing pretty well. We hardly ever see her without a fierce pair of lashes when she’s being photographed, so chances are she’s her own walking advertisement for the eyelashes, which is even smarter.

Blac Chyna is the owner of Lashed, which is a beauty salon in Encino. So, when she’s not being photographed with Kim Kardashian or Amber Rose (who are presently and formerly romantically linked to Kanye West, and are “supposed” to be enemies), she’s giving customers custom lash and brow treatments. The salon also offers facials, spray tans and body waxing. There’s no doubt that customers likely go to the salon to get a glimpse of her, and to see if Lashed is really all it’s cracked up to be. Maybe Blac Chyna has been involved in all of these publicity stunts just to bring more attention to her company. If so, she’s been successfully learning all the lessons the Kardashians are teaching her.
