May is a month filled with a variety of celebrations. We eat and drink to Cinco De Mayo, a good excuse to shovel Mexican food down our throats and drink lots of alcohol (and in some cases, massive amounts of alcohol). The 5th of May is often mistaken for the Mexican New Year when in fact it is a celebration of Mexico’s victory over France in the Battle of Puebla (shocker). The other bookend at the end of May is Memorial Day. This is a celebration of the men and women who served in the military and also spurs a great deal of alcohol. Memorial Day is a good excuse to break out the barbecue and have backyard parties. Hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks and beer flow as they never have before on Memorial Day. Sandwiched in between these two binge-drinking and eating holidays is Mother’s Day. Yes, the Mother of all holidays. There are more greeting cards purchased and more mail activity during the week of Mother’s Day than any other day of the year. There is also a flocking to morning buffets and restaurants for a massive glut of eating. The irony of these three holidays bringing so much food to the table is that summer is literally right around the corner.
Looking past all the eating, there is a lot of sunbathing that occurs in the month of May. The stepping stone to summer is a month of celebration and a time where beautiful women flourish on the beaches. All around the Northern Hemisphere, women and men alike storm the sands in hopes of looking their best. This is where Playboy’s May princesses came marching into our lives. 10. Sasha Bonilova – 2011
Sasha Bonilova captured Miss May for 2011 and she did it in a big way. 36DD/27/36 is an impressive spread and this Ukrainian beauty also sported seductive green eyes to go with her blonde hair. Sasha was one of bustiest playmates of all time with her Double-D’s. Sasha’s journey truly began when she arrived in the United States at the age of 17. She didn’t speak a word of English at the time. Initially, Sasha’s traditional family weren’t too excited about her appearing in the buff. But after seeing the photos and hearing she had been awarded the May cover, they became excited. The self-professed tomboy enjoys riding her Yamaha sports bike and grew up a sports fanatic.
9. Kristen Nicole – 2013
Kristen Nicole is a complete package. She comes in at 5’9” tall and sports a 34D/24/34 spread. Her blonde hair and blue eyes are an impressive kicker to a beautiful visual display. In May 2013, Kristen Nicole finally got her wish to be the cover girl for Playboy. The Southern California native looks like she just stepped off the sandy beaches with her glowing skin and blonde hair. Born in Escondido, California and raised in Temecula, Kristen has been a high profile swimsuit model for years. She has posed for many big brands including: Guitar World, Paul Mitchell Hair Products, and Have Faith Swimgerie. She is a sought after model with a big resume and we can definitely see why. In fact, she landed the Miss May gig during her initial photo shoot, one of the quickest decisions ever made by Playboy to place a model on their cover.
8. Nikki Leigh – 2012
Nikki Leigh is a stunning blonde who captured the 2012 May cover. The California native looks the part with beautiful long blonde hair and a killer body sporting a 34C/26/32. Nikki definitely looks the part when she tears up the Southern California beaches in her bathing suits. The 5’3” package is smoking hot and her centerfold with Playboy was used as a springboard for greater things. She appeared in the television shows Two And A Half Men, Tosh.0 and the movies The Wedding Ringer and The Bet. Undoubtedly, we have not seen the last of this blonde beauty.
7. Brook Power – 2016
Brook Power is the Playmate of the Month for May 2016. This gorgeous brunette with brown eyes was born in Southern California but grew up in Oahu, Hawaii. Brook describes her home as if they lived “on the edge of the jungle and the ocean.” Brook loves to surf and feels at home by the ocean. “The ocean is my connection to God and makes me feel good, without fail.” Brook also gets her exotic looks from her Native American heritage (she’s part Chippewa). Brook’s beauty is impressive but so is her view of the world, “Sacagawea, my role model, broke through the strict gender restrictions of North American culture,” says Brook. “Before her, Native American women weren’t viewed as equals. As a female artist, it’s more difficult for me to achieve credibility, but I’m not bitter. I’ll take the added challenge, because gender equality has never been forced. Women don’t need the booster seat of affirmative action to be as successful as men. We can kick ass just fine on our own without a social movement taking credit for our successes.” We gladly support you, Brook!
6. Laurie Fetter – 2003
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Laurie Fetter comes in at 34D/24/35. With blonde hair and blue eyes, this Windy City beauty is a big time football fan. She is all about the tall, handsome and athletic types. On the bright side, Laurie is anti-boy bands (aren’t we all at this point). Laurie, like many other Playboy models, appeared in a few movies and television shows. Laurie had a very realistic view about her future in the entertainment business: “You get dealt so many different cards every day, and you don’t know where you’re going to end up tomorrow. It’s a tough business, and I don’t have any illusions about it. But I would love to be a working actress for the rest of my life. Entertaining is what I was born to do.”

Crystal McCahill became the second ever generation Playmate in May 2009 when she captured the cover. Her mother, Gale Olson, was Miss August back in 1968. McCahill is a busty brunette who comes in at 34DD/26/34. Crystal had been dreaming of being a Playboy model ever since her mother dawned Hefner’s pages. Born in Illinois, McCahill actually lived in Hawaii and went to a Japanese school for several years. After Playboy, Crystal was able to grab a variety of roles in movies and television and is a regular at bars (ironically, so are men).
4. Deanna Brooks – 1998
Deanna Brooks captured her moment in the sun back in 1998 when she landed the May cover of Playboy. Deanna is a natural beauty stepping in with a 36C/24/35 spread. Born in Boulder City, Nevada, Deanna was a manager at a branch at the company of Key Bank in Dayton, Ohio, when Playboy came knocking. Deanna advised customers on their investment and savings plans. However, once the Playboy pictorial came out, she was fired. Despite being laid off from her bank job, Deanna doesn’t regret her decision to pose for Playboy and neither do her thousands of fans abound.
3. Dani Mathers – 2014
Make no mistake about it, Dani Mathers has made a big time impact with her relationship with Playboy. It began back in January, 2013, where fans were so impressed with Dani that they made her Cybergirl of the Month. After capturing COTM, Playboy recognized they had a gem. So in May 2014, she landed the cover. Fans were still thoroughly impressed with the Los Angeles, California native and made her Playmate of the Year for 2015. With brown hair, blue eyes and a 33D/23/31, it’s no wonder this beach bunny has enjoyed a lot of success with Playboy. At 5’1” in height, she is a tiny package, but the girl who comes from a Jewish-Italian family proclaims “I was brought up playing in the mud, cheerleading, and playing volleyball, and I can’t seem to keep my mouth shut. I’m a bit of a Jane of all trades.” We agree Dani!
2. Brooke Berry – 2000
This Canadian native is a brown-eyed beauty who followed in the footsteps of a couple of other Canadian sensations in Pamela Anderson and Dorothy Stratten. At 36C/25/34, Brooke sparkles on the pages of the Playboy. She stands at a modelesque 5’8” tall. Born in Vancouver, Canada, Brooke moved to northern California when she was young. She lived in the shadows of Berkeley and loved enjoying the mountain life in Tahoe City and all that Sierra Nevada has to offer. Brooke also had this to offer on the few Canadian women in Playboy: “The ratio of good-looking women is the same in Canada, but Playboy attracts more of them somehow. Maybe we’re just funnier, better-looking people,” Brooke says, laughing. Brooke enjoys Los Angeles and some of the fun and sun, but she is a mountain girl at heart.
1. Anna Nicole Smith – 1992
One of the most famous Playboy cover girls of all time, Anna Nicole Smith was absolutely dynamite when she first appeared on the cover of Playboy. Back in May 1992, Anna Nicole Smith was a little known beauty from Houston, Texas. She was the definition of the hourglass figure with her 36DD/26/38 physique. She was labeled a “blonde bombshell” and quickly drew comparisons with Marilyn Monroe. The later years saw Anna spiral out of control but we like to capture her back in her prime. She listed in her Playboy cover that her turn-ons were “men who wear braces, cowboys! I also get off on scary movies.” Seems a strange fit for Anna because I’m not aware of too many women who like 80-year-old men with braces. But either way, she married rich and died too young. But when she posed for Playboy, everyone paid attention.
