Every four years some of the greatest athletes in the world get together for the Olympic Games. There are both winter and summer games and while everyone has their own opinion on which version they prefer, there is no doubt that the Olympics are incredibly exciting. For the most part, they are all amateur athletes, but recent years have seen professionals start to take part. While some would argue that the games were better when it was only amateurs, there is no doubt that the professionals are incredibly talented.
One thing that is always interesting to watch is the female games. It doesn’t matter if it’s ice hockey, field hockey, soccer or track and field, you will always see some of the most beautiful women in the world. They represent countries from all across the globe, even if they may not be household names in North America. Nobody will blame them for wanting to be recognized for their athletic abilities instead of their appearance, but there is no denying that they’re unbelievably sexy. While some of these are household names, others are on this list because they really are some of the most beautiful people in the world of sports. With the way our society prioritizes beauty, is it really any surprise that a beautiful competitor will always get more media attention than her not so beautiful opponent? That’s just the way the world works unfortunately.
One thing is certain; the beauty doesn’t hurt ratings by any means. So here is a list of some of the sexiest Olympians of all time. Call me cheesy, but I’d give them all a gold medal!
15. Christina Vukicevic
Christina Vukicevic is a track and field star in the hurdles that hails from Norway. The 28-year-old hasn’t won a medal in the Olympics yet, but in the 2008 Games, she set a then-personal best time of 13.05 seconds in the 100-meters.
She is constantly improving on her times, but one thing that she needs no improvement on is her appearance. Even if you have no interest at all in track and field events, I bet you wouldn’t mind learning more about Christina.
In 2011, she announced that she was no longer with her long-term partner Andreas Thorkildsen, so maybe she’s single?
14. Annette Gerritsen
If you see Annette Gerritsen in competition you could never tell what a beauty she is. That’s because what she wears when winning medals in speed skating races tends to not be the most revealing. But if you take a look at FHM Netherland’s in the January issue of 2011, you will see what a beautiful woman this 30-year-old is.
She won a silver medal in Vancouver at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The native of the Netherlands has also won two World Sprint Championships and a pair of World Single Distance Championships.
13. Catalina Ponor
Catalina Ponor is a 28-year-old brunette bombshell from Romania who won 3 Gold Medals in 2004 in Athens, Greece. She won two more medals (silver and bronze) in London in 2012 to bring her career total to five.
She had retired from competition in 2007 due to several injuries, but she made a comeback for the 2012 games. She has since come back one more time in hopes to compete in one more Olympics.
Hopefully, when her fitness career ends she will look into becoming a swimsuit model!
12. Leryn Franco
Leryn Franco is a 34-year-old stunner from Paraguay. Her specialty was the javelin throw, but in two Olympic appearances, she wasn’t able to win a medal. That being said, Franco still has the ability to throw a javelin nearly 200 feet, so she isn’t someone you want to mess with!
One look at her and it’s easy to tell she’s gorgeous. As a result, Franco has taken part in countless beauty pageants, including the Miss Bikini of the Universe pageant. She finished in second place in the Miss Universo Paraguay 2006 pageant and she even has her own calendar.
Much to your enjoyment, Franco also appeared in the 2011 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
11. Melanie Adams
Melanie Adams is the hottest pole vaulter ever! The 27-year-old native of Australia took part in the 2012 Games in London. After her appearance, Dirt.com voted her the Sexiest Athlete of the 2012 London Olympics. One look at her and you can see that there was no competition.
Adams started pole-vaulting at the young age of 11 and has also been able to participate in many beauty pageants. In 2006, she was a finalist for the Miss Teen Australia pageant. She wants to enter the Miss Universe pageant in the future, I’m sure we all can’t wait for that day!
10. Ellen Hoog
Ellen Hoog is a 30-year-old, 5 foot 4-inch knockout that has won two consecutive Gold Medals in field hockey. She made her debut with the Netherlands National Team in 2004.
In the 2012 London Games, she became the first player to score a winning goal on a penalty shot in a major championship game. It was in the semi-finals against New Zealand and with talented players like Hoog, it is perhaps no wonder they’ve won two straight golds.
The Netherlands team is filled with beauties but Hoog is the hottest of them all.
9. Natalie Coughlin
Natalie Coughlin is one sexy medal winning machine. She has a total of 12 Olympic medals, three of those being Gold, and is tied with Dara Torres and Jenny Thompson for the most medals ever won by an American female.
The 33-year-old swimmer won 6 medals in 2008 in Beijing to become the first woman in American history to win that many in a single Olympics (modern era). She is also the first woman to ever win the 100-meter backstroke Gold Medal two consecutive times.
She has done work for MSNBC and made appearances on several television shows including Dancing with the Stars. You can find her in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and she is also the author of a book called “Golden Girl”. Coughlin was also the cover model for ESPN The Magazine The Body Issue in 2015.
She has been married to Ethan Hall for seven years.
8. Lindsey Vonn
Lindsey Vonn is a 31-year-old striking blonde that won two medals in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. She won the Gold in downhill and the silver in the Super-G. She was the first ever American woman to take Gold in the downhill. Those two medals are all she has to her credit because several injuries have severely hampered her performance appearances.
She has been on many television shows including The Late Show with David Letterman, Access Hollywood, Law & Order (her favorite show) and The Today Show. She has received countless endorsements and in 2010, her net worth was reported to be around $2.5 million.
Vonn was married to Thomas Vonn for four years and then dated Tiger Woods for a couple of years.
She was in the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and that same year she was voted 59th hottest woman on Maxim’s Hot 100. Only 59th? What were they thinking?
7. Amanda Beard
Amanda Beard is one of the most successful American swimmers in Olympic history and she also just happens to be one of the hottest. The 34-year-old has won 7 medals in her career, two of them Gold. She has also been voted the American Swimmer of the Year on two different occasions.
Beard’s beauty has not gone unnoticed and she has been on the cover of Playboy and FHM magazines. She also has made appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Maxim’s Top 100, People’s 100 Most Beautiful list along with a host of other lists that are focused on the sexiest athletes in the world.
She also took part in a PETA advertisement one time that saw her letting it all hang loose, showing the world how comfortable she is in her skin. But don’t watch it unless you can handle it. No joke there, it’s a very graphic PETA video, even if it does include a nice interview with Amanda.
Amanda has been married to Sacha Brown for many years and the couple has a son and a daughter.
6. Heather Mitts
Heather Mitts is a 37-year-old sexy soccer star. She has won three Gold Medals as a member of the United States National Women’s team in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
Want to know just how sexy she is? She has been voted “Hottest Female Athlete” (ESPN.com), Sexiest Player in the WUSA (Playboy Online), and in 2002, she was the cover model on Philadelphia Magazine’s issue about the sexiest singles in the city. She was also featured in the 2005 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. One doesn’t receive that type of attention unless she is super sexy!
She has done work for ESPN, ESPN2, MLS, and ABC.
Mitts married NFL quarterback A.J. Feeley in 2010 after several years of being on again off again with him. Come on A.J. what was the problem? We know your career is on again off again but what’s the big decision to make about Heather? That’s a no brainer! Maybe that’s why you get sacked so often… indecision. The couple had a son in 2014.
5. Antonija Misura
Antonija Misura is a 5 foot 11 inch blonde that lights up any camera she is in front of, as well as the scoreboard on the basketball court. The 27-year-old is a member of the Croatian Women’s National Basketball Team so she doesn’t have any Olympic medals yet and chances are that she may never get one, but that’s not what this list is looking for!
On the court, she is a shooting guard and point guard and is known for aggressive play.
Her beauty has brought her media attention from around the world but she has said it’s both flattering and at the same time annoying. Any list that is made of the most beautiful athletes in the world has Misura on it , but she turns down most of the modeling offers that she gets. That’s very unfortunate for the world, but there are still plenty of pictures of her out there.
In late 2015 she married her long time boyfriend Marko Sandric.
4. Alex Morgan
Alex Morgan is as hot as she is talented. She is quickly becoming one of the best soccer players in the world and she was named the 2012 U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year.
The 26-year-old scored the winning goal against Canada in the semi-finals of the 2012 Olympics in London. She also assisted on Carli Lloyd’s goal in their 2-1 Gold Medal victory over Japan. She finished the Olympics with 3 goals and a team-high four assists.
Morgan has been in numerous magazines including the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and in ESPN The Magazine twice (including being on the cover once!). She has also appeared on several television shows including The Simpson’s and American Idol.
She got married to Servando Carrasco on New Year’s Eve in 2014.
3. Maria Sharapova
Maria Sharapova is a former #1 tennis player in the world. In Maria’s first ever Olympic appearance (the London 2012 games)., she won a silver medal. Nobody would blame her for losing though, considering she was up against Serena Williams!
The 29-year-old Russian has been involved with several modeling assignments including Cannon, Nike and Prince. She has also appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Sharapova has earned over $285 million in her professional tennis career and for 11 years in a row, Forbes Magazine named her the highest paid female athlete in the world. In 2012, The Tennis Channel named her as one of the “100 Greatest of All Time”, proving she was worth all of her lucrative paydays.
In the past, Sharapova has had long term relationships with Adam Levine, as well as TV Producer Charlie Ebersol. Reports say that she is currently single and living in Bradenton, Florida so you better not waste too much time, fellas!
2. Julia Mancuso
Julia Mancuso won the Gold Medal in giant slalom at the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics. She added silver medals in 2010 at Vancouver in the downhill and combine events. This beautiful American has also proven her toughness, having had to go through surgery on her hip to remove a bone spur that was an inch long. She has continued to be successful despite the long recovery process that came with it.
According to reports, the 32-year-old has been single for about three years now after ending a four-year relationship with a Norwegian skier. Good girl, stick with the Americans.
Known to her friends as “Super Jules”, Mancuso has four Olympic medals and designs and models her very own underwear line that she calls “Kiss My Tiara”. I’m sure her ‘Tiara’ is not the only place people want to kiss her!
1. Caroline Wozniacki
Caroline Wozniacki is a 25-year-old that has yet to win a medal in the Olympics, but she ‘won’ our list. She is a former #1 tennis player in the world but hasn’t been able to turn that into a medal during Olympic competition yet.
At Beijing, she got past the second round before falling to eventual Gold Medal winner Elena Dementieva. In London, she knocked off three opponents before falling to Serna Williams in the quarter-finals.
The native of Denmark can be found in the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She isn’t all just looks though, in fact, she speaks three languages fluently.
Wozniacki was screwed over by golfer Rory McIlroy in 2014 after an almost four-year relationship. She announced their engagement in January of 2014, but then three weeks later McIlroy announced that he had called it all off. He said “The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails. I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we’ve had.”
That’s ok Rory, there are plenty of men in the world that would love to take your place!
